Who is Natalia Leongardt?

Natalia Leongardt is a human rights advocate and specialist in the protection of the rights of Indigenous small-numbered peoples. She was detained in the same criminal case as Daria Egereva.


Since 2005, Natalia has worked at the Center for Support of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North. She has contributed to the development of educational programs on Indigenous rights, sustainable development, Indigenous tourism, engagement with business, and the economic development of communities.


She organized training sessions across regions from Murmansk to Magadan, as well as exchanges and cooperation initiatives with Indigenous peoples of northern countries.


From 2011 to 2013, she worked at the Association of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, participating in international events and representing the interests of Indigenous peoples.


Her work has always been open and lawful.
