For many years, Daria Egereva has actively represented the interests of Indigenous peoples of Russia on the international stage. She has participated in UN climate conferences, international webinars, and Indigenous peoples’ forums, providing expert commentary on the protection of Siberian forests, traditional food systems, and the role of Indigenous knowledge in climate policy. Her appearances include interviews and panel discussions at different climatic and biodiversity COPs, participation in UNFCCC events, and various international platforms focused on climate justice and Indigenous rights.
As part of her international work, Daria called for Russia to ratify ILO Convention No. 169 and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, emphasizing the importance of upholding international standards for the protection of traditional territories and cultural practices. All her public statements were purely advocacy-focused, dedicated to Indigenous rights, ecosystem preservation, and climate justice — none of her statements are related to the charges currently brought against her.
Let us recall one such video. It was recorded at COP25 and posted on The Global Landscape Forum channel.
