Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt, who are charged with participation in a "terrorist organization" for their work protecting Indigenous rights, have become the subjects of a book published as part of the project Resistance Imprisoned.

Egereva, a representative of the Selkup people and an expert on Indigenous rights and climate policy, has been under arrest since December 2025. She faces up to 20 years in prison. Leongardt, who has dedicated more than 20 years to supporting the Indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East, is also charged under a similar article.

Both women are linked to the "Aborigen Forum" association, which was first designated as extremist and later as terrorist in Russia. Human rights defenders emphasize that their activities were exclusively peaceful and lawful in nature.
The stories of Egereva and Leongardt are included in the book of a project that brings together testimonies of political prisoners and tells the stories of people who have faced persecution for their beliefs and civic engagement.
