Court Extends Daria Egereva’s Detention

Daria Egereva will remain in pre-trial detention until March 15. This decision was made today by the Basmanny District Court of Moscow.

Daria Egereva, a representative of the Selkup people, was detained on December 17, 2025, after participating in an international climate conference in Brazil. She remains in pre-trial detention on charges of alleged participation in a terrorist organization.

Representatives of Indigenous Peoples have already sent an appeal calling for her release. Many see what is happening not simply as a criminal case, but as a warning to everyone who speaks out for Indigenous rights, the protection of nature and the future of the planet.

“Defending your people and your land is not a crime. Taking part in international dialogue is not terrorism,” her colleagues say.

Voices of support are already being heard around the world. The open letter and petitions have been launched, and a website has been created where anyone can send Daria a letter of support.
