Appeal Hearing Scheduled in the Cases of Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt

The Moscow City Court has scheduled a hearing to consider appeals against the extension of pre-trial detention for Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt. The announcement was made by the Telegram channel “The December 17 Case: Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt.”
Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt have remained in pre-trial detention since 17 December 2025. Earlier, on 12 March, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended their detention until 15 June 2026.
The appeal hearing is scheduled for 29 April 2026 at 09:40 a.m., Courtroom No. 307.

The hearing will take place in the appellate building of the Moscow City Court. Both defendants are expected to participate via video link from Detention Center No. 6.
Who Are Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt
Daria Egereva is a representative of the Selkup Indigenous people, a human rights defender, and climate activist who has participated in international initiatives, including UN platforms.
Natalia Leongardt has been involved in educational and international initiatives supporting Indigenous peoples, including through the Russian Indigenous Training Centre.
Both women are defendants in the same criminal case related to alleged participation in “Aborigen Forum,” an organization designated by Russian authorities as extremist and terrorist.
Human rights advocates maintain that the prosecution is linked to their civic and international advocacy work and that their activities were non-violent in nature.
Supporters are encouraged to attend the hearing to show solidarity with Daria Egereva and Natalia Leongardt.
